Katie Bowman lives in Dallas, but home she says is in the “Big Potato” – Apopka, Florida. Katie recently graduated with her Master’s in Education.

 “My dreams and goals are simple,” she says. “I want to make a difference in the lives of youth, and be a supportive wife to the love of my life, Adam. I would love to have lots of kids of my own someday!”

 Katie loves sharing a little about her relationship with Adam in her programs.

 “I chose abstinence until the day I got married. What I think is really cool is my husband chose abstinence as well. I really respect Adam for his self respect and self control.

Abstinence was a decision we both made when we were in middle school. But considering we were growing up on opposite ends of the world, our paths had not yet crossed. He was a military kid living on a base in Japan. I was in Florida. Without knowing the other existed, we both made the decision to wait until marriage.

We met in college, dated, and have now been married for two and a half years. The great thing is we don’t deal with the baggage so many others carry as a result of their multiple sexual partners. We have absolutely no worries of STDs. We’re not strapped down with child support payments. There are no painful memories or comparisons of past lovers. 

Don’t get me wrong, choosing abstinence wasn’t easy. But not once have we ever regretted our decision to wait. What an amazing wedding gift to give to the love of your life!”

 In her free time, Katie enjoys watching football with her husband, learning to cook, sewing and reading a good book. On the top of her favorites list is Jane Eyre and the Twilight series.
