The Freedom to Succeed program is geared to motivate teens to choose sexual abstinence as the best lifestyle to help them reach their dreams and goals. Students can see the programs in any order. It is not necessary to see any other program first. The following outline requires at least 60 minutes.

 

Sex is Good and Bad – Word Game

Like fire, sex can be good or bad depending on how it is used and when it happens.

 

Discussion – Pregnancy and Child Support

Students will be challenged to consider the devastating consequence of an unplanned teenage pregnancy, single parenting, and having to pay child support.  Who pays?  How much?  How long!?  Abstinence = Freedom.

 

Discussion - Criminal Law

Students will get a straight answer to the question “What exactly do you mean by sex?”  Do you mean sexual intercourse?  What about other sexual behaviors?  The students will be surprised to hear that the law considers touching sexual areas to be sex. Each sexual crime (as defined in your state) is explained. These crimes include a discussion concerning public lewdness, indecent exposure, statutory rape, sexual assault, and aggravated sexual assault.

 

Game - Guess the Age

Students play a game demonstrating how difficult it is to determine with certainty the age of a teenager and the devastating legal consequences of guessing wrong and having sex with someone underage. 

 

Discussion - Sexual Offender Registration

Students learn about having to register as a sex offender, who, what, how long, etc.  Examples of actual teen sex offender registrations are shown. 

 

Sexual Abuse – Discussion

It was not your fault. Sexual abusers are usually someone you know, and will get you to promise or threaten you to never to tell. Sexual abuse involves pictures/videos of nudity or sex, looking at sexual areas, or sexual touching. If you are involved in sexual abuse, (1) Stop; (2) Run away; (3) Tell an adult.

 

Discussion - Pornography: Cell phones/Sexting/Internet

Students will learn how pornography can be unlawful.  This section explains laws regarding internet pornography.  Pornography is also dangerous and makes them more likely to commit sexual crimes than teenagers who do not use pornography.  Pornography also distorts sex through focus on the self and robs you of the best, healthy sexual relationship in marriage.

 

Discussion - Sexual Harassment

Students will be equipped to recognize sexual harassment and taught what to do if they are the victim.

 

Example From Scripture

A look at what God's law says about sex. 2 Samuel chapters 11-12 are the story of David and Bathsheba. Students learn that even though God forgives there are still consequences for sin.

 

Concluding Game - Concentration Memory Game

The law expects you to remember 100% of its details.  Abstinence means you don’t have to worry if you remember all the legal details. It guarantees freedom.

Each student participates in a voluntary survey. Results are sent back to your organization.
