Faith-Based Programs

Aim For Success programs in public schools and secular private schools do not contain any religious references. The case for sexual abstinence is presented completely from a health, legal, and/or future-goals basis.
Churches, Christian schools and other faith-based organizations love the Aim For Success programs and style of learning. They have asked us to include a spiritual component to our programs. For these groups we offer the following programs.

Student Programs can be given in:

  • Small Groups / Classrooms
    • A small group would be 50 or less in 6th grade; 75 or less in 7-8th grades; and 100 or less in 9-12th grades.

  • Assemblies

    • An assembly is any size group larger than a 'small group'.

  • Seminars

    • This three to five hour seminar goes into greater depth and personalizes the material in the Student Presentation.

    • With worksheets, games, and activities, participants list their dreams and goals, set personal "how-far-is-too-far" boundaries, and make commitments to their friends and to themselves.

    • It is perfect for retreats and special school days.

Preview:

  • Aim For Success believes parents should be their child's primary sex educator. Therefore, parents are given an opportunity to preview the information and teaching methods used in the student presentations. This 60 minute program also provides creative information to help parents know why, when and how to talk to their children about sex.

  • Aim For Success strongly recommends this program precede all student presentations. This program is suitable for audiences of all sizes at PTA programs, churches, civic clubs, and businesses.

Parent Education:

  • Getting Over the Sex Talk Jitters

    • Does the thought of talking to your child about sex make your heart pound? Then “Getting Over the Sex Talk Jitters” will put you at ease and provide creative ways to open doors of communication and answer those unexpected and sometimes tough questions from toddlers to teens. This hour long program is extremely popular among Elementary PTAs and church groups. The Texas PTA has invited Marilyn Morris to present this program at the State Convention for four consecutive years.

    • Groups preferring not to have the word “sex” in the heading of their invitations and fliers can opt to change the title to: ABC’s of the Birds and Bees: Why, When and How to Talk to Your Child with Ease.

  • Discussion: After parents participate in the preview, many want to ask specific questions to their own situations. This sixty to ninety minute discussion session with the presenter is perfect. Parents write their questions at the beginning and midway through the program on cards and the presenter answers as many as possible.

Seminars:

  • This is a three to five hour program that can be done on one day or split up over multiple days.

  • Many times it is a combination of two or more of the Parent Preview, Getting Over the Sex Talk Jitters and the Parent Discussion programs mentioned above.

  • It can be a custom program that covers specific issues that you request.

Eligible for continuing education unit credit

  • Teachers, Nurses, Counselors, and Social Workers who attend Aim For Success staff development / workshops / seminars will receive continuing education credit.

  • Educators also receive creative ideas on how to implement the abstinence message into the classroom. All participants work through the Aim for Success Staff Development Resource Manual during this presentation.

Staff Workshops / Seminars

  • Aim For Success provides several different workshops for Education Service Centers. These five hour workshops include a wide variety of topics including: current information on teen pregnancy, STDs, today’s drug scene, teen sex and the law, and dating violence. They are also packed full of activities, games and creative ways to empower students to make good choices and avoid risky behavior. Participants receive 5 CEUs for Nurses, Counselors, Educators and Social Workers.

To save time and money the 1-hour Parent Preview and the 1-hour Student Small Group Presentation can be combined in our 90-minute Parent/Teen Combo.

  • Parents watch the student program

    • The parents sit in the back as observers while a normal 1-hour student presentation is conducted with the students seated up front.

    •  After the presentation the students are dismissed to play games, eat refreshments, etc.

  • Parent education with just the parents

    • The parents now get a 30 minute parent education program. This information  will help parents do all they can to prepare their children to make good choices about their sexual behavior.

    • This content is the exact same information shared with parents in our normal Parent Preview (see Parent tab for more information).

After the Student and Parent Presentations, this program is a wonderful follow-up.
  • Parents and students first participate in their own separate programs or the parent / student program.

  • Workshop of communication activities about the programs.

    • Participants sit together as a family unit. They carry out fun, non-threatening communication exercises focusing on the sexual abstinence lifestyle.

    • By the end of the workshop, families will not only be talking about sex together, they will be laughing about it as well.  A family that can talk about sex together can talk about anything!
