Ramon Uribe is a dynamic speaker who is passionate about
sharing the abstinence message.
Ramon grew
up in California in what he refers to as an all too familiar
Hispanic home. My mother was pregnant at 17 with the first of her
five children. We were a poor family being raised by a single mom.
But instead of becoming another statistic, Ramon broke the cycle.
After high school, he joined the Navy and helped with the efforts
that ultimately led to the end of the Bosnian war. The GI Bill paved
the way for Ramon to receive a degree in Communications from the
University of California. He then received another BA in Madrid,
Spain. Most recently, Ramon earned a Masters in Academic Studies.
Ramon also has extensive experience as a mediator between the
English and Spanish-speaking world both in the spoken and written
word. No doubt, Ramon's commitment to abstinence has a great deal to
do with his amazing success story.
Beyond
being well educated, traveling the world and serving in the
military, Ramon is an amazing role model for today's youth! Learning
to overcome difficult circumstances has provided Ramon the passion
to reach out and empower today's youth to do the same.
Ramon's
ultimate goal is to help his own people become free from the
oppression that sex outside of marriage can bring: a vicious cycle
of fatherless homes, poverty, welfare dependence and lower levels of
education.
When he is
not speaking for Aim For Success or working on his studies, Ramon
enjoys athletic pursuits. He loves running, swimming, hiking and
especially skydiving. He also enjoys reading (when he can find the
time) and visiting relatives in Mexico.
