Other Funding Sources to Consider
Title 1 – is federal money available for schools that have economically disadvantaged youth. A school that is Title 1 has a large number of students coming from low income households so the government gives money to these schools. Title 1 (Part A) is the largest federal program in K-12 education. The money is intended to improve the quality of education in high poverty schools and/or give extra help to struggling students.

Title V – is federal money that has been marked for abstinence and is given to various states. Texas has received a large amount of Title V monies. Each year organizations such as abstinence groups, school districts, hospitals, health districts, and pregnancy centers, etc. will apply for Title V money from the state of TX. They fill out a detailed application, and the process is quite competitive. The state review committee selects which applications to fund. Each Title V grantee then uses these funds to start their own program, purchase curriculum, bring in Aim for Success, hold conferences and/or youth rallies, do media ads, mentoring clubs, etc.

For more information on Title V visit this website at http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/fysb/
Safe and Drug Free Monies – For smaller districts, the Education Service Centers (ESC) for that region manages these funds and makes them available to individual schools. You may contact your ESC and see if they have any monies for the Aim for Success programs. Some will fund either totally or partially.
